As you may know we have started our offshore season in the Gambia by installing three large fish attractors , these are a killer method of localising predatory fish along drop offs and upwelling’s .

As an experiment this has proved spectacularly successful . So much so that we are now in the process of building and installing 2 more much large attractors , which will be in place by the end of June .

The first day out with two UK clients , We hit two large Dorados on the first of the attractors and the second had a shoal of some 40 around it , and they landed Nine fish to a best of 45lbs. Just two hundred yards below the attractor , they hooked and landed 2 Sailfish to 80lbs .

We are now actively fishing 6 offshore wrecks , these are a Haven for the over sixed Barracuda and Groupers that frequent Gambian waters in the summer . Our best to date is 47lb , but the Cudas can go 75lb plus , and with the downriggers set ups we are installing on the boats , they should be much easier to target .

Bottom fishing is producing the usual mix of good sized Snappers and Cassavas , and unstoppable runs that end in re-rigging the rods .

The Jolla wreck also has a regular visits from marauding bunches of good sized Jack Crevalle and Long fin Trevally , so dont forget the poppers . This big wreck is also a magnet for big Cobia and to date the biggest is 76lbs .
