This week Brenden Burnham caught a 35 pound, 3 ounce carp (click here for photo) at Virginia Lake in Reno breaking the state record for carp! The previous state record was 34 pounds, 10 ounces set 15 years ago. Brenden is an avid carp angler, and entered 46 carp trophy fish in 2019 alone.
In this week’s Nevada Wild, Aaron Keller and Ashley Sanchez sit down with Brenden and NDOW’s Fisheries Staff Specialist Pat Sollberger to rehash the moment Brenden caught the carp. They talk about NDOW’s trophy fish program, carp fishing and why it’s becoming more popular. Buy your fishing license today at ndowlicensing.com to see what you can catch!
