The Coastal Resources Division (CRD) is reminding students, teachers and the public that recorded Virtual CoastFest 2020 resources are still available at www.CoastalGaDNR.org/CoastFest. We are excited to announce that Virtual CoastFest 2020 reached upwards of 12,500 people throughout its three days, and its resources will remain available for future use.
If you missed any of the livestreamed segments, you can still view recorded videos and learn all about the mission of CRD. You can also view them as a playlist on YouTube by clicking here.
Additionally, the CoastFest Art Exhibit is open to the public at the Marshes of Glynn Library at 208 Gloucester St. in Brunswick until Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. Click here for library hours. If you are unable to attend the exhibit in person, we invite you to view a video of the artwork by clicking here. Grand prize winners will be announced via press release Oct. 16, 2020.
CRD is also accepting entries to our Virtual CoastFest essay contest. Students from elementary, middle and high school are encouraged to write a 400-500 word short essay from the prompt: “What makes the Georgia Coast unique and what did I learn about it at Virtual CoastFest 2020?” First, second and third place awards will be given to Georgia students in elementary, middle and high school. Schools may submit their top five essays for judging by the Division’s staff and its partners in conservation. Teacher, homeschooling parents and students can find more information, including submission guidelines and deadlines, at www.CoastalGaDNR.org/CoastFestEssay.
Finally, Virtual CoastFest 2020 T-shirts are on sale through Friday, Oct. 9, 2020. T-shirts are $10 plus shipping and handling and may be purchased by clicking here.
Thank you to everyone who attended Virtual CoastFest 2020, and we look forward to seeing you in person at CoastFest 2021, set for Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021.
