Worland Game Warden Matt Lentsch captured this image last month of the Bighorn River on Big Horn Walk-In Area 49. This particular walk-in area is open Sept. 1 – May 31. Hunting for waterfowl, pheasant, sandhill cranes, doves, rabbits, turkey and deer is allowed during specific seasons and dates. This property is also part of the Big Horn Drainage 12 Fishing Walk-In Area and is open year round to fishing of channel catfish, sauger and shovelnose sturgeon.
Walk-in areas allow for access to private property for the purpose of hunting or fishing. Each property has a specific set of rules, and the rules can differ from site to site. When using Walk-In Areas, please be respectful, as we are guests on private property!
