Connecting children, youth, and families with the outdoors by providing hands-on outdoor recreation activities.
Since inception in 2007, the Fort Kearny Outdoor EXPO has encouraged students (grades 4-6) and public day participants to discover the great outdoors. Many area schools including all of the Kearney Public fifth grade students participate in the event. The Fort Kearny Outdoor Expo is now an identified tradition for the City of Kearney and surrounding communities. With donations from supporters like you, the EXPO continues to be a FREE hands-on event. The success of this event links those who want to provide a quality family oriented event and preserve Nebraska’s outdoor heritage.
The Outdoor Expo is committed to providing a variety of more than 50 hands-on educational activities and demonstrations to connect youth and families to the great outdoors.
Participants will encounter:
• Outdoor Cooking
• Shooting Sports
• Demonstrations and Seminars
• Bow Fishing
• Climbing Wall
• Ropes Course
• Kids Discovery Zone
• And many more exciting activities
FREE to all, the 2019 Fort Kearny Outdoor EXPO had over 2,000 students participate during the two school days and over 4,700 public day participants. Over the last 13 years, more than 50,000 people have participated in this event.
