Celebrate Our Shelled Friends on World Sea Turtle Day in The Palm Beaches
While The Palm Beaches is a destination renowned as an epicenter of arts and culture, savvy travelers are expanding their horizons to connect with nature in what is one of the country’s most robust ecosystems. A prominent marine ecosystem located within The Palm Beaches is Juno Beach – one of the world’s most densely nested sea turtle beaches and home to Loggerhead Marlinelife Center.
With World Sea Turtle Day on June 16, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County can’t think of a better way to ‘shell’-ebrate the day than at Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The Center is a nonprofit sea turtle hospital that treats nearly 100 sea turtles and 1,000 hatchlings per year. With year-round free admission, the Center rescues, rehabilitates and releases sick and injured sea turtles, which can be seen in 15 viewing tanks.
The Center offers many fun and informative programs including Turtle Walks. The Turtle Walks take place during the evenings in June and July and allow visitors to learn about, and observe, the nesting and egg-laying process of sea turtles. Other programs and activities include:
Eco Adventure Series
Dr. Logger Show
