PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department is conducting a survey of resident and non-resident anglers to evaluate the 2010 fishing season and collect some general information from anglers.
This survey is being collected via the Internet.
Licensed anglers who have provided GFP with e-mail addresses have been sent electronic invitations with an Internet link to participate in the survey.
“In a few cases, people may experience some incompatibility problems and not be able to open or complete the survey, but for the most part the survey is running smoothly and we are getting lots of information,” said GFP Human Dimensions Specialist Larry Gigliotti.
“The data will be analyzed and summarized, and reports will be available on the GFP website this summer,” Gigliotti said.
“Surveys like this are really the main way we acquire public input. They help shape the way the department will manage fisheries in the future.”
E-mail notices will be sent to all the anglers in the database when the information is posted to the website.
