The AGFC’s Family and Community Fishing Program will be taking its Family Fun Day show on the road this Saturday, June 1, with a stopover in West Memphis at Tilden Rogers Park. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is more than just a fishing event. The AGFC will have archery and BB gun shooting stations, and even if you’re a beginner, you will feel right at home with the assistance provided by the agency’s instructors and helpers. Plus, there is paddling, along with fish cleaning and healthy-style cooking demonstrations and wild game for tasting, too. Free health and wellness screenings are part of the lineup. And, yes, there is fishing at a stocked pond full of meal-size catfish, plus and door prizes and a chance for someone to win an Outdoor Adventure from the AGFC. Family Fun Day is an event that the AGFC takes to various corners of the state during the warm weather months and will be a great opportunity for young and older anglers on the eastern side of the state to have a good day out. For more information, visit gofish.agfc.com on the internet. Everyone 16 years and older who is planning to fish will need a fishing license (get those online for $10.50 at agfc.com).
