Horseshoe Crab Trip Limit Decrease

•  Effective Friday, June 14, 2019, the daily trip limit for horseshoe crab is decreased to 30 crabs. This trip limit will remain in effect until further notice.

This action is taken pursuant to the quota distribution schedule of subdivision 44.3 (b)(3) of 6 NYCRR.

All horseshoe crab harvest must be reported on the Vessel Trip Report (VTR). Weekly submission of horseshoe crab VTRs is required from April through July. If you need extra VTRs or would like information on online reporting, please call 631-444-0857.

Black Sea Bass Fishery Closure

• Effective Monday, June 17, 2019, in New York State, the black sea bass commercial fishery is CLOSED. This closure will remain in effect through June 30, 2019.
• Effective Monday, July 1, 2019, the daily trip limit for black sea bass is set at 50 pounds. This trip limit will remain in effect until further notice.

These actions are taken under the authority of 6 NYCRR 40.1 (u)(1)(2), and quota distribution schedule referenced therein.
